Vassaras is one of the five counties of Carraway Island (the other four being Bisloeca, Rilloq, Sagemas, and Skamplanck).
The county seat is Tipapelan, which is located on Haverford Island.
As of 2019, its population is 48,357. It is the fourth-most populous county on Carraway Island, ahead of the county of Skamplanck. However due to the county's extremely rugged mountain terrain, it has a much more centralized population than the county of Skamplanck; over 95 percent of the county's population is centered in its largest city. If Tipapelan were to become an independent city, the population of Vassaras would be 2,554, by far the least populous county on Carraway Island.
