The Clockwork Beige is a mid-rise building located in the Bellamyville neighborhood of the City of Adustelan. Construction began in 1955, was abandoned before completion, switched contractors multiple times, and ultimately opened in January 2016.

The bottom two floors of the building are currently home to Carraway Island's only Target location, the Adustelan-Clockwork CityTarget.

History (fictional)

The building was originally called the Clockwork Tower. The tower originally was 273 feet tall with a 30 foot high clock at the top of the building. Construction began in 1955 by the former contracting giant Alpha del Fuego, but ended abruptly in 1957. Three sides of the building were left completely without walls and the site was left completely abandoned between 1957 and 2013.

Alpha del Fuego handed over the property to the City of Adustelan in May 2013 during the process of liquidating its assets. By August 2013, the rights to finish the property and convert it into apartments and retail were sold to Gergich and Co. Contractors (a contracting company based in Tipapelan) for less than $100,000. Construction was expected to pick up again in 2013, but plans were postponed due to the 2013 Carraway Construction Union strike. Construction would be resumed by late December 2013.

In January 2014, Gergich and Co. Contractors began scoping the site to prepare for finishing the building and found that the six uppermost floors of the abandoned building have undergone massive exposure to the elements and were at risk for collapse. To ensure security in the building's final structure, Gergich and Co. decided to deconstruct the top floors. This involved the removal of the signature clock (stuck at 10:15 for fifty-seven years) for which the tower originally got its name; the clock would later be relocated to the Fluorescent New Year Sign. Due to the intricacy needed for the task and due to the dangerous levels of asbestos found throughout the building, the deconstruction took ten months and was completed in November 2014; it lowered the building's height substantially. The building was also extended widthwise to allow for more lease space.

In October 2015, Target Corporation announced its intentions to lease the bottom two floors of the completed Clockwork Beige property (leaving the upper floors for high-end apartments) and open Carraway Island's first Target location. Upon full completion of the building in 2016, 61 years after construction originally began, the store opened.

Development in Minecraft

StaticAnnouncement began construction on the building in mid 2012, topping it out but not constructing the walls. The site was left completely untouched until November 7, 2014, when the building's height was lowered and the clock was relocated to the Fluorescent New Years Sign, as stated in the fictional history.

The building was widened and began the conversion of its lower floors to a Target on January 22, 2016. The apartments on the upper floors weren't developed until November 2, 2016.
