Joe "Spats" Canton (January 15, 1881 - September 3, 1954) was an American-born Carrawayan politician who was simultaneously the 1st President of Carraway Island and the 8th mayor of Adustelan.

Canton was known for his robust personality and stirring speeches, as well as his social influence during the Carrawayan transition to independence between 1929 and 1931. He won the 1931 Adustelan mayoral election in a landslide and served between 1931 and 1939. Once the Constitution of Carraway Island was drafted on November 8, 1931, Canton was also appointed to be the first president by the First Assembly. He served in that role from 1931 until 1945.

After a six year break from politics, Canton was selected to be vice-mayor of Adustelan under Maxwell Christopher Douglas, a position he served quietly from 1951 until his death in 1954.
